Missional Together

Evangelism is something recognized in most churches as important but misunderstood in application.  Did God intend for us to go out to make disciples on our own, like lonely missionaries in the wilderness?  Or did he intend for us to make disciples together as a church?

How should we interact with our culture?  How much should church be designed with culture in mind?  Should the Sunday gathering be constructed with the unchurched in mind?  How can an interested unchurched person enter our faith community and learn what it means to be a disciple of Christ?

When the church is mentioned in scripture it is always as a living thing.  A human body (Col 1:18), a plant (Mark 4:26-32), or even living stones (1 Peter 2:5).  And one of the primary functions of every living thing is to reproduce.  How can we shift how we think and what we do at LBC to one of training and preparing to plant other healthy churches that reproduce?  How much would we need to change to do that?

As you can see there is much to consider and learn as we seek the scriptures for the heart of God on what it means to be Missional Together.  Come join us as we figure it out.

Matthew 28:19

Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations...
